Book 1 of 2013
Although it is already near the end of the first week of February, I have just finished my first book. It has been a hectic month and year so far, and I’m grateful to have finally finished this book!
Happier at Home is the second book I have read about Gretchen Rubin. She and her Happiness Project have encouraged and nudged me into focusing on the things that make me happy. I have taken small steps to do this in my life, but I hope that throughout this year I will focus on them even more!
To get started, the author has posed a few questions to get you started about thinking about happiness in your life.
- What makes you feel good? What activities do you find fun, satisfying, or energizing?
- What makes you feel bad? What are sources of anger, irritation, boredom, frustration, or anxiety in your life?
- Is there any way in which you don’t feel right about your life? Do you wish you could change your job, city, family situation, or other circumstances? Are you living up to your expectations for yourself? Does your life reflect your values?
- Do you have sources of an atmosphere of growth? In what elements of your life do you find progress, learning, challenge, improvement, and increased mastery?
I am going to mull these questions over, and I invite you to reflect on them as well.
2013 is, after all, my year of Revelations!
